Notes and photos from nearly two weeks on the road.
As previously mentioned, our route involved the above map (click for the interactive, Google-powered version). Day one would take us to camp at Badlands National Park. Day two took us through Custer State Park to Boysen State Park. Then we would camp in Grand Teton National Park. The next night, camp would be set in Sawtooth.
From there, we were off to metropolitan areas, staying with friends in Vancouver, Washington to visit campuses in Portland, Oregon. We wanted to spend a couple nights camping along the Oregon coast before landing in Seattle and staying with friends again. The final push would be more than twenty-four hours of driving back to Minneapolis.
The map below reflects our actual route (again, click for more). For reasons you’ll find among these pages, there are obvious differences. I’ve also added quick-reference icons.
