Notes and photos from nearly two weeks on the road.
Day nine’s morning was rainy and it stayed cloudy. We took the coast from Waldport up to Canon Beach. From there we made our way back into Vancouver.
8.15a: Awake. It’s raining but not much. tearing down the tent and trying to clean it a bit, then showers. glorious showers.

9.30a leaving camp and headed 101N.
10.10a: make-it to Rogue 40min early. tours start @ 3p. off to greener pastures.
Newport doesn’t start bumping ’til after 11. unfortunate.
(by “bumping” I mean drinking.)
11.30a back on 101 after a stop @ the Chowder Bowl in Depoe Bay. outstanding. and their cornbread was equally impressive.
Lincoln City “A Great Place to try new things” — remember Mo’s from last time. not too impressed.
1.15p Tillamook – the IKEA of Cheese.
No one selling booze until 11a puts a crimp in things when you hit the road before 10a. In hindsight, the chowder may not have been “outstanding” because my palette isn’t very refined (understatement).
2p picked up a couple botles of wine @ Nehalem Winery. hope Girlfriend likes them. I did.
Cannon beach is far less interesting if you’re not old and it’s cloudy.
4p Rogue pub & eatery
5.30p hung out @ Jake’s w/ more arch. kids. great happy hour.
7.20p Fred Meyer sells PBR for less than Hamm’s. “Apparently they haven’t read the hipster memo.” – Fish
Girlfriend did, at least by appearances, enjoy the wine. Both times I’ve been to Cannon Beach it’s been cloudy.
